The Aberdeen Lynx face a difficult weekend on the road as they take on the Dundee Comets and the Kirkcaldy Kestrels in the SNL.
First up for the Lynx is a rematch against the Comets after an exhilarating 4-4 draw in Aberdeen a few weeks ago.
Head coach, Rod Ramsay, is expecting a challenging and passionate encounter between two rival teams, he said: “The team is short benched this weekend which will make this challenging affair a lot more difficult than anticipated.
“There is a strong rivalry between the Lynx and the Comets, and a number of the guys used to play for the Comets, so it will no doubt be a passionate game.
“In our last encounter with the Comets, we launched a third period comeback from 4-1 down to claim a draw, so there is high expectation that the game will be action packed again this weekend.”
On Sunday The Aberdeen Lynx will travel further afield and head to Fife to take on the Kirkcaldy Kestrels, thankfully with a stronger team as a number of key Lynx players make a return.
Like the Comets game, it will be a rematch of their home game against the Kestrels a few weeks ago, where once again, the Lynx came from behind to earn a 3-3 draw.
Barry Carnegie, assistant coach and forward for the Lynx said: “On the road our form has been pretty good lately. Although both of these games will be very interesting, we are hopeful that we can bag a few crucial points to boost us up the leader board.
“Having a solid defence this week is extremely important, especially on Saturday when we are short benched.
“The players need to be prepared for both a physical and mentally challenging weekend of matches, but I am positive that we can achieve positive results.”
A double win for the Lynx would see them open up a gap over the Comets and potentially overtake the Kestrels and enter into the top three clubs in the league.
