Huntly’s John Henderson will bid to qualify for the PDC World Darts Championship today.
The Highlander is in Barnsley for a tour card qualifier where the last two places at next month’s World Championship at the Alexandra Palace are up for grabs.
Qualification is also vital for Henderson as he bids to retain his place on the PDC Tour.
With the PDC operating a two-year ranking list, Henderson is due to lose 15,000 ranking points after the World Championship as a result of reaching the second round of the tournament two years ago.
That makes qualification crucial for Henderson and if he was to lose his tour card the 49-year-old would need to go to Q School in January to attempt to win his place back.
