Paul Lawrie has withdrawn from the BMW PGA Championship due to injury. The Press and Journal columnist had shot a seven over par 79 in his opening round on Thursday. He said: “My groin was really tight this morning so not playing today. Thanks to everyone at the BMW PGA Championship for another brilliant event.” Fellow Scot Stephen Gallacher also dropped out of the event due to a wrist injury. Italian Francesco Molinari was the first round leader after a flawless round of seven under par 65.
