The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open tends to be kind to Felipe Aguilar.
Two years ago at Royal Aberdeen, the Chilean shot a final round 63 at Royal Aberdeen to break the course record Rory McIlroy had set only three days earlier. Last year Aguilar carded a second round 64 at Gullane Links which included a hole in one at the par-3 third hole.
He said: “I have lots of good memories from playing golf in Scotland.
“I was a little lucky to shoot the course record at Royal Aberdeen because it wasn’t the windiest of days. The hole in one at Gullane was my first ace as a professional so it was a special moment for me.
“I made an albatross two at Gleneagles in the Johnnie Walker championship 10 years ago so I have had some good experiences in Scotland.
“I am looking forward to returning to Castle Stuart as it is a fantastic golf course. It is usually a strong field at the Scottish Open and a great test of links golf. There are always places for The Open up for grabs so it is an event where we all hope to play well.”
