Coach Ryan Morrice feels Gordonians have nothing to lose when they travel to National 3 leaders Glasgow Academicals tomorrow.
The task has been made all the harder for the Countesswells side after the New Anniesland men suffered their first defeat of the season.
Morrice knows the Glasgow side will be determined to bounce back after going down 17-10 at Highland last weekend.
He said: “We have a shot to nothing.
“Nobody expects us to do anything down there.
“We will go down with a game plan and try to implement it.
“The guys are working hard to adjust to this league. It was a bigger step-up than some may have expected.
“But I think we will see a big difference in the second half of the season. We will have have a better idea how to play certain teams and know when we need to adopt a more pragmatic approach.”
Gordonians captain Tom Williams admitted his side were disappointed to suffer a 27-17 home defeat against St Boswells last weekend.
He said: “It was really frustrating.
“The first half was our best 40 minutes of the season.
“We played badly in the second half and let them take control of the game.
“It is going to be a tough game this week.
“We know to expect a fast-paced game and some physical forwards.
“We have been working hard in training so we will look for that 80-minute performance this weekend.”
