A member of Highland RFC’s first-team squad has tested positive for Covid-19.
The club made a statement at 9am this morning stating they were aware a player had received a positive result but were “confident” it was not contracted while at the club.
Like most rugby clubs in Scotland, Highland are semi-professional and players have jobs outwith their sporting commitments.

Highland players had recently returned to training, in line with Scottish Rugby’s return to play guidance.
The club in National One and were third when the coronavirus pandemic forced an early end to the season. There is yet no confirmed dates as to when the new season will begin.
