Only nine games were played in the Caledonia League programme on an afternoon disrupted by the weather.
At Countesswells, Gordonians took advantage by climbing into second place in Caledonia 1 after collecting a try bonus point 32-17 win at the expense of relegation-threatened Morgan Academy.
The Dundee team took a first-minute lead when Gavin Hughan thundered over, this despite playing into a blizzard.
Gordonians composed themselves, inspired by scrum half Graeme Crawford, who drove his pack to a four-try lead by half-time, getting himself on the scoresheet with a try and three conversions.
Lock Blair Hawthorne, winger Graeme Imrie and full back Danny Usugo were the other try scorers for Gordonians who turned around 26-5 up.
The second half was an entirely different affair as Morgan took advantage of the strong wind, scoring tries through flanker Kenny Falconer and scrum half Jamie Hughan who also kicked a conversion.
Gordonians kept their heads in the difficult conditions and, with Crawford adding two penalties, ended up worthy winners.
Gordonians club captain Craig McEwan said: “It was a great game played in appalling conditions. Crawford was the man of the match, bossing our forwards who were dominant throughout. Our scrummaging was just great.”
In the only other game in the division, Mackie FPs scored four tries at Tillicoultry but were 31-22 losers to Hillfoots.
The Stonehaven club’s tries were scored by Duncan Ross, Ryan Hood and Duncan Campbell (2).
In Caledonia 2 North, Garioch enjoyed an entertaining 34-21 win at home to Moray, while leaders Aberdeenshire 2nds maintained their unbeaten record, crushing Aberdeen University 82-0.
Peterhead had a surprise 17-0 win against Deeside at Catto Park, handing the Banchory men their first defeat of the season in Caledonia 3 North.
Aberdeen University Medics closed the gap at the top to six points after beating Shire 3rds 22-5 at Woodside.
Ellon enjoyed their first win in Caledonia 4 North, beating Garioch 54-25 at Inverurie. Fraserburgh continue to find their first season in the game tough, losing 48-5 away to Aberdeen Wanderers 2nds.
