Elgin-born rugby union player Lee Millar is preparing for the biggest match of his career this weekend.
For the past two seasons, Millar, 23, has been plying his trade in the English Championship with London Scottish.
The Exiles finished in the top four in the second tier this season and are now just four matches away from securing a place in the Premiership.
To make the step up they will have to defeat Worcester Warriors over two legs and then beat either Bristol or Rotherham, again over two legs.
With London Scottish having finished third in the table, Worcester, who finished second and who are coached by former Scotland international Carl Hogg, will start the semi-final as favourites.
However, ahead of their home match against Worcester at the Richmond Athletic Ground on Saturday Millar said: “Our aim at the start of the season was to reach the top four.
“This is a tough division, so to have kept going and done just that shows what a great bunch of players and team spirit we have here throughout the club.
“People will see us as underdogs going into the Worcester matches, but we are keen to spoil the party and cause a bit of an upset.
“We saw in last year’s play-off final when London Welsh upset the favourites Bristol over two legs what can happen and what we have to ensure is we are still in the tie by the time we head there for the second leg.
“The club prides itself on a good home record and, with Edinburgh playing their European final against Gloucester just down the road at The Stoop on Friday night, we should be set for a good crowd on Saturday.”
Due to his dad’s involvement at Moray Rugby Club, Millar got his boots on as a youngster and made his way up from the minis into the various youth teams and then the senior side when he was still at school.
From there, he moved to the Borders for college and enjoyed a number of fine seasons playing for Gala – winning the man-of-the-match accolade in the 2012 Scottish Cup final.
His consistent form earned him a move south in 2013 and, although last season he played mainly in his usual position of stand off, in recent months he has been turning out at centre or full back.
He added: “I have been struggling with a hip problem this season so that has had to be managed carefully, but I have still been able to play quite a lot of games and have enjoyed the new positions.
“I like quite a bit of time on the ball so full back suits me and I am looking forward to getting going this Saturday. It should be a cracking match.”
