Scotland’s rugby squad have secured a place in the Rugby World Cup quarters finals.
And these pictures taken following the team’s 36-33 win over Samoa at St James’ Park in Newcastle show just how much it means to the players.
The Pacific Island team came close to ruining Scotland’s chances of making it any further in the competition, determined to get a second win.
It was a game bitterly fought right to the end with a try from captain Greig Laidlaw giving them breathing space before Motu Matu’u provided a big scare in the final minutes.
However things will only get tougher in the next round of the contest with the squad due to face either Australia or Wales at Twickenham on Sunday.
On the bright side – as one optimistic Scots rugby fan has pointed out on Twitter – the national team are just 240 minutes from winning the tournament!
