A stunning performance from Kingussie saw them crowned Camanachd Cup champions this afternoon in Inverness with a 4-0 win over Glenurquhart.
Savio Genini maintained his record of scoring in every round to grab a brace while the experienced Ronald Ross was also at the double to secure a fine victory.
The final, contested at Bught Park was the 107th showcase final and it certainly did not disappoint.
Glen were looking for their first Scottish Cup final in their 130 year history, however, it was Kingussie who showed their quality to secure a well deserved 4-0 victory – the club’s first Camanachd Cup final victory since 2006.
The teams are locked together in the league so many were expecting a tight match but that was not to be the case with Genini firing Kingussie into the lead in the 21st minute.
Ross, who was playing in potentially his final game for the club, added a second shortly before half time.
The second half was more of the same with young Genini and veteran Ross both grabbing their doubles to ensure Kingusie were crowned Scottish champions.
Ross confirmed after the match that he was likely to now retire so it is only fitting we share this tribute song.
