An elderly woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in a North-east town.
It happened just after 10.30am this morning on A920 South Road near Bridge Street in Ellon.
The collision involved a blue Peugeot 208 driven by a 65 year old female and a 89-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the bridge there.
As a result of the collision the female pedestrian was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is currently being treated for life threatening injuries.
The occupant of the Peugeot 208 was uninjured.
Sergeant Rob Warnock, from the Aberdeenshire and Moray Road Policing Unit, said: “Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the blue Peugeot 208 or the female pedestrian prior to the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
