Police, fire and ambulance crews are in attendances, along with an air ambulance and a helicopter from the Coastguard.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue service said: “Two crews from Fraserburgh attended the scene of a two vehicle RTC with reports that a male was trapped in one of the cars.
“We assisted emergency services free the man.”
A spokeswoman for the police said full details about the nature of the crash were not yet available.
“We don’t believe anyone has been seriously injured,” she added.
The road is closed at the Watermill Road junction in Fraserburgh.
