Councillors have backed plans to revitalise a Deeside town square.
Designs had been created for Scott Skinner Square in Banchory after concern was raised that the area is underused.
Artists Alister MacInnes and Fin Macrae, who are known as DUFI, gathered information from both local residents and visitors before creating the plans to refurbish the square.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Marr area committee approved the proposals when they met at Huntly earlier today.
Ward councillor Karen Clark praised the plans, which she hopes will enable to square to be used as a community space.
“The work will give the square a facelift and we hope it will be the catalyst for more people coming into the space. The plans are very distinctive and innovative, and I think that people will like that,” she said.
