400 homes without power in Banchory area

Around 400 homes in the Banchory area are without power due to stormy conditions.

Residents in Strachan, Auchattie and Finzean were affected after a power line was blown down around 7.30am today.

Originally, 1,500 homes were hit but engineers have managed to scale down the impact.

A spokeswoman said that at 11.15am, 400 homes were still without electricity.

She said: “We would like to apologise to our customers and engineers are working to restore supplies as soon as possible.”
