North-east homes facing power cuts following lightning storms

Homeowners across the north-east have been left without power this morning after raucous thunder and lightning storms overnight.

SSE is reporting outages in areas such as Cove, Inverurie, Turriff, Aboyne and Montrose.

Residents experiencing issues are asked to get in touch with the energy supplier as soon as possible.
