Aberdeen have indicated they will appeal against Shay Logan’s red card against Celtic.
Logan was sent off after the final whistle in the Dons’ 1-0 win at Parkhead on Sunday, with referee Craig Thomson after an altercation with numerous Celtic players.
Social media footage showed the Aberdeen defender appearing to celebrate his side’s victory in front of the home fans, with Mikael Lustig intervening and Logan pushing him away.
A confrontation then ensues with Dedryck Boyata, in which the Celtic defender throws the ball at Logan and appears to grab him by the neck. Logan wriggles free and then Leigh Griffiths attempts to throw the ball at him, missing the Dons man, before Thomson shows the red card.
Manager Derek McInnes admitted after the game that Logan would be fined and was prone to over-celebrating, as the 30-year-old was ushered down the tunnel by Dons coach Paul Sheerin.
