Aberdeen midfielder Jonny Hayes wants to celebrate a hat-trick of wins at Celtic Park this season.
The Dons can secure a place in next season’s Europa League if they beat the Scottish Premiership champions in Glasgow tomorrow.
Having already beaten the Hoops in the Scottish Cup and won the League Cup final at Parkhead, the home of the champions has become a happy hunting ground for Derek McInnes’s side and Hayes, who also scored the goal of the season when the Dons beat Celtic at Pittodrie in February, is eager to continue the winning run.
He said: “Celtic are a good team. You can’t knock what they did last season against Barcelona where they played really well so you cannot say they are a bad team.
“They may have been distracted at times by competing in the Champions League but they always play their strongest team against us because of the respect they have for Aberdeen.
“We have to play well if we are to finish as their main challengers and I think we can because we’ve already beaten Motherwell, Invermess and Dundee United. The chance to do something is definitely there for us.
“Celtic Park is always a tough venue but you don’t go there expecting to lose. In the past, that seemed to happen regularly there and at Ibrox with 4-0 and 5-0 wins but not any longer as clubs expect to pick up points.
“If we can take something away from Celtic Park it will be another sign of the progress we’ve made.”
