Aberdeen have signed Manchester City midfielder Chidi Nwakali on loan until the end of the season.
The Nigerian youth international was recently on loan at Norwegian side Sogndal and pending a work-permit being approved, will be available for the Dons Scottish Cup tie with St Mirren next week.
Nwakali flew out late to join the squad at their Jebel Ali base in Dubai yesterday, arriving just an hour before their morning training session but taking part alongside his new team-mates.
Manager Derek McInnes has a gap in his squad to fill after the departure of Greg Tansey, who left for Ross County on loan until the end of the season on the day the Dons flew out to the United Arab Emirates.
The 21-year-old extended his contract with the English Premiership leaders in the summer and embarked on a second loan stint with Sogndal. That expired at the end of 2017 and Nwakali, who has not made a first-team appearance for City, will have the chance to fight for a starting spot with the Scottish Premiership side.
He has a younger brother, Kelechi, who is contracted to Arsenal and on loan with Dutch club VVV Venlo.
